Making the coastal community better in every way
At the heart of any community are those closest to the cause, and non profit groups benefit from the many interactions of volunteers. From sitting on board seats, to assisting with fundraising, programs or projects; there is never enough thanks to the people who spend their time helping to make things happen. Southern Ocean Chamber Association (SOCA) hosts Non-Profit Forums each quarter to bring together professionals, volunteer organizers and interested community members to find new ways to serve and advance the missions of charitable organizations that keep the heart of the shore beating all year round. Hosted at Stockton University Manahawkin Campus, and partnered with Ocean County Culture & Heritage Commission, these free events provide networking, information and key notes that address challenges many groups face as we head into 21st century challenges. The Fall Forum is scheduled for November 3, 2023, with more details to come.
Looking to lend a hand? ,SOCA is looking for volunteers to assist with set up, day of and break down duties for the 34th Annual LBI Chowderfest Vendor Village happening at the Taylor Avenue Bay Front in Beach Haven. The event is scheduled Saturday, September 30 10am to 6pm with a rain date of October 1. Volunteer Positions needed for those 16 years and up include Beer Ticket Sales, Credit Card Sales, Customer Service, TIPS Certified Beer Pourers. In addition to being center stage for this iconic event, volunteers who register before 9/1 receive a Volunteer T Shirt, as well as complimentary chowder voucher from Country Kettle Chowda. Times needed for volunteers are:
Friday, September 29 - Noon - 4:00 p.m. - Set Up
Saturday, September 30 - 9 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. - All Day
Saturday, September 30 - 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Half Day
RAIN DATE: Sunday, October 1 - 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. - All Day
