Set Sights on Three Day Columbus Weekend

The Long Beach Island Region has plenty to fill the holiday weekend

Our chamber is celebrating our 109th fall season in the Long Beach Island Region of the Jersey coast. The charm that the Pines and the salt air casts a magic spell over events taking place in the fall. Some long standing traditions, and some new ones have been added to the calendar.

 

The 50th Annual LBI Commemorative 18 Mile Run has added a 12k run. Taking place on Sunday, October 8 with race starting at 1030am in Holgate. Registration is handled through St Francis Community Center.

The longest running Surf Fishing Tournament in the state kicks off October 7, as the 69th LBI fishing Classic brings together local bait and tackle shops, fishing enthusiasts and first time competitors looking to catch Striped Bass, Blues and Kingfish. Tournament runs through Dec 10. This fishing tradition comes loaded with prizes and bragging rights and a Surf Fishing Seminar opening weekend. Sign up and weigh in at Fisherman's Headquarters, Jingles Bait & Tackle and Surf City Bait & Tackle.

Halloween Family Fest October 6 & 7 Lacey Historical Society 126 S Main St. Forked River at Old Schoolhouse Museum  $5 ticket includes Halloween walk through scenes, costumed characters, games, prizes, pumpkin decorating, Smores fire pit, refreshments, halloween trivia, face painting and local ghost stories.  6-830pm Rain or Shine 

8th annual LBI FLY Kite festival has kite displays in various locations in Ship Bottom with individual events throughout the island from October 6 to 9th!

LBT Shellabration happening at Bayview Park October 7 from noon to 6pm featuring local oyster farmers, beer, games and environmental education to support the local Oyster Industry. 

Eaglewood Township's Country Fair and Craft Show - Oct 7 10am to 4pm Division & Railroad Ave, West Creek. Everyone is invited for pumpkin and cookie decorating, Face painting, Pony Rides, Inflatables, Classic Cars, Food Vendors and more

Stafford Township's annual Fall Harvest Festival Saturday Oct 7 and Sunday Oct 8 will be filled with activities at Manahawkin Lake Park running noon to 5pm with live music on both days. Saturday brings hayrides, craft and food vendors, Halloween Parade at noon, scarecrow making, pumpkin picking, Red Rocker Record Fair and, for a tasting fee, Wine Festival at Heritage Park.

Fantasy Island Columbus Day Weekend Fireworks at dusk in Beach Haven Saturday Oct 7

Surflight Theatre will be presenting Dracula A Comedy of Terrors October 6 & 7 with 730 performance and October 8 with 2 pm matinee
