NJ's Chowder Capital plans Fantastic Fall Fest September 30

Long Beach Island's Chowderfest serves up its 34th year in Beach Haven

Fall on the Jersey Coast is one of the best times to enjoy the salt lifestyle, so plan a visit to the undisputed Chowder Capital of state September 30. Southern Ocean Chamber Association presents a twist to the traditional with its 34th Annual Chowderfest that includes the Bayfront Vendor Village, one of the most dynamic free events on LBI. Happening at the Taylor Avenue Waterfront in Beach Haven, this free pet friendly event runs from 10am to 6pm featuring an artisan market, local food specialties, entertainment and live music.  Festival goers can browse unique market tents filled with art and wood items, baked goods, coastal lifestyle clothing, decor, personal products, jewelry, baked goods, handmade clothing and gifts, home products, flowers, games,  hats, accessories and seasonal items. Barlow Buick GMC & Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center Vendor Village Presenting Sponsors invites families and friends to take in entertainment and activations include Ocean County 250th Revolutionary War Trailer and Pup Tent Pet Hydration Station, Bloomin' VW Bus Photo Station, Official Chowdergear, Bywatyr Base Camp Shore Seating Area, Children's activity tent and live performances.  Explore all vendors online here

Chowder Village Music line up sponsored by Health Village Imaging features tops acts to get everyone in the festival mood including The La Stella Brothers, Chevy Lopez and the Rave Ons. Good music goes best with great food and drink; the variety will be outstanding. Ritchie & Page will have plenty on tap for those 21+ with Michelob Ultra, Landshark, Jetty, Strongbow, and Victory Oktoberfest Amber Lager, for 2023 the first 3000 beer purchasers get a commemorative mug sponsored by Surf City Marina. For those other beverage lovers Nutril in Cranberry Classic or Pineapple, Hoop Tea and wine will also be served.  Festival food for purchase includes Bread bowls and chowder from Country Kettle, Handmade Tacos with Mexican Sodas from La Bamba, Wagu Hotdogs, Smashburgers, Jambalaya from QC Market, Thai Chicken dumplings, spring and shrimp rolls from Simple Fried, Award winning chowder, wings, sliders and drinks from Chicken or the Egg, Pizza and cheese steaks from Panzone's, Top Chicken items from Chick Fil A and Baked goods including elephant ears from Crust & Crumb. 

This year the Cook off Classic is back from 11am to 330pm featuring 8 local competing restaurants supplying unlimited red and white chowdertasting  for ticket holders casting their vote for champion. Tickets are available online only and is presented by the Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean to benefit local food pantries. Chowder Cook Off Tickets can be purchased in advance or day of at website linked here. Getting there is easy,  parking is free and the LBI Ferry will be running a special Chowderfest Express schedule from Tuckerton Seaport to the Boat ramp just feet from the fest.
