A Valentine Guide to the Long Beach Island Region 2024

With February 14 falling on a Wednesday, the celebrations can continue into the weekend. From a Galentine getaway, romantic outing or a family trip; the Long Beach Island Region of Coastal New Jersey offers a something special for the sweetest time of year. Southern Ocean Chamber is pleased to work with local businesses and organizations to present suggestions for Valentines 2024. 

Love is in the Air at the LBI Foundation of Arts & Science , starting Saturday Feb 17 with a a special screening of My Love Affair With Marriage and Q+A with director, Signe Baumane. From the director of Rocks in my Pockets, comes a new award-winning animated feature about a spirited young woman determined to find love in the bewildering world. My Love Affair With Marriage follows Zelma on her 23-year quest for perfect love and lasting marriage set against a backdrop of historic events in Eastern Europe.  Doors open at 7:00 PM, Film begins at 7:30 pm, tickets are $15 and are available for purchase online 

February 24 LBIF is hosting a Vow Renewal Ceremony 2-6pm inside their main gallery.  All couples are welcome for a champagne toast and passed hors d'oeuvres. This complementary event does require an RSVP  and for those newly engaged Saturday March 9 from 11am to 2pm is their Preferred Wedding Showcase. 

Make it a date at Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven, with Winslow: Eagles Tribute happening February 17 at 730pm &  February 18 2pm matinee with East Coast's Greatest Eagles Tribute Band. Winslow Tribute Band celebrates the iconic American Band The Eagles. This powerhouse ensemble recreates the live performance of The Eagles and the signature sound that made them one of the most successful artists in the 70's.  A Valentines' Murder Mystery Til Death Do Us Part will be unraveling at Cuisine on the Green in Little Egg Harbor. Friday Feb 16, and once filled Saturday Feb 17 from 530  to 830 pm. Be a witness at Tony and Carmella's 25th Anniversary vow renewals and enjoy the show with full buffet. Tickets are $68 per person and includes tax and gratuity. Celebrate the 15th Anniversary at Manafirkin Brewery in Manahawkin Feb 17 with the Ned Ryerson Band and Fan Appreciation party from 2-5pm 

The Sweetest Crime: A Chocolate Covered Murder Mystery - Saturday, February 17th at 2pm and 7pm at  St. Thomas of Villanova (13th St. & Long Beach Blvd. Surf City, New Jersey, 08008) - in partnership with the St. Francis Community Center.  A hilarious chocolate-themed murder mystery full of over-the-top characters, chocolate puns, saucy secrets, and an interactive performance to discover who the killer is! Prizes will be drawn for correctly guessing the murderer, and there will be plenty of chocolate, of course! We hope you’ll bring your Valentine and join us for this exciting night out. The show may include profanity and suggestive themes.  Each ticket includes a chocolate treat, water, tea, and coffee. Top proposal spot or a Valentine walk?  Barnegat Lighthouse State Park is open year-round and offers a variety of nature walks and hiking trails. You can take a guided tour of the lighthouse, explore the maritime forest, or just enjoy the beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean.
